AC Milan have been named among the clubs that are interested in signing Borussia Mönchengladbach’s striker Tim Kleindienst.
According to CaughtOffside, the number of clubs that are ‘monitoring the situation’ of Kleindienst is increasing after a season in which he has scored 16 goals and added seven assists in the Bundesliga. He could be available too, if Mönchengladbach fail to qualify for Europe.
Wolves, Everton, West Ham, and Tottenham Hotspur are in the running, and Premier League clubs are ready to pay €30-35m for the German striker. Domestically, Bayern Munich ‘stand out’ as one of the teams looking at him, as they seek a deputy to Harry Kane.
AC Milan and AS Roma are also ‘closely following the player’s situation’ as per the report. The 29-year-old Kleindienst has recently emerged as a force for the German national team, scoring four goals in his six appearances for his country so far.
For Milan, there are obvious doubts about the striker position. Santiago Gimenez cost €32m in the winter and looks to be the obvious one to build around, but Tammy Abraham is only on a season-long dry loan from Roma so he could depart.
Luka Jovic has been leading the line recently but is on an expiring contract, so there is the possibility that the Rossoneri management – led by a new sporting director – could opt to invest in another centre-forward.
