Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has provided an insight into what he feels is the position on the pitch best suited to the characteristics of youngster Arda Güler.

As much, of course, comes fresh off another outing to remember for Güler on Sunday.

Afforded his latest start in Real’s La Liga meeting with Villarreal, the Turkish international took full advantage once more.

Maintaining his remarkable goals-per-minute ratio in Spain’s top-flight, Güler was on target to the tune of a brace, to take his tally to six for the campaign, all across his last eight appearances.

Speaking to the media post-match at La Cerámica, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his starring midfielder’s form was put to the aforementioned Carlo Ancelotti.

Specifically, Real Madrid’s headmaster was quizzed on Güler’s best position on the pitch – out wide, through the middle, advanced or more deep.

And Ancelotti was in no two minds when it comes to as much, adamant that the 19-year-old simply needs to be as close to the opposing goal as possible, to make use of his ‘special’ talents:

“His position? The closer to the penalty area, the better. The best way to say it… he has something special.”
