Cantwell burns Rangers bridges with massive attack on fans | OneFootball

Todd Cantwell’s latest social media outing is the end for him and Rangers after he posted attacking Rangers supporters on two counts:

Firstly, a claim that he has not received love and support from Rangers fans, and secondly, that the support in general for the club has disappeared. There is also a potential dig in there at Philippe Clement as well.

Now, he didn’t say any of this explicitly in words, but instead posted an image of an empty football stand with one person sitting in it with the caption ‘the support’.

Cantwell’s immaturity and attitude is diabolical, and it’s evident that his Rangers career is done, while he appears determined to bury that relationship into the ground even further.

Whether the dig is at fan opinion of him, or of the supporters of Rangers in general, or an attack at his manager, he’s definitely burned all bridges with the club and most of the fans now.

That said, there’s a huge problem – absolutely no one wants him enough to pay what Rangers want for him.

Rangers’ valuation of Cantwell is around £3M-£5M. The club would accept less as long as there’s addons, but no one is even coming close to that, and as things stand we have an expensive paperweight ‘earning’ £25,000pw.

Finding both a buyer willing to meet Rangers’ valuations and one ready to pay him at least his existing salary is proving very difficult indeed, and Rangers are running out of time to do so.

We will have a piece on that soon, but as things stand, Cantwell isn’t going anywhere.

And he would rather be anywhere else.
