Brighton 'set to sign' England star Fran Kirby on free transfer | OneFootball

Brighton Women are set to sign former Chelsea winger and England star Fran Kirby on a free transfer, according to the BBC.

Kirby is Chelsea's all time record goalscorer, having netted 115 times in 205 appearances for the Blues, but brought her nine year spell with the west London side to a close this summer.

She has also made 70 appearances for England, and was part of the squad that won the European Championship in 2022, though she missed the World Cup through a knee injury.

Now, she is set for a new chapter as the 30-year-old is on the verge of joining Brighton, in a move that will go down as one of the Seagull's biggest ever coups.

She will certainly bring experience to match their ambitions, having won eight league titles in her career to date.
