Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo believes his former head coach Thomas Frank will do a good job at Tottenham.
Frank left the Bees to join Spurs last week after seven years in charge of the west London side, having secured the club promotion to the Premier League followed by four subsequent top-flight seasons.
The Dane replaced Ange Postecoglou, who was sacked despite winning the Lilywhites the Europa League.
Mbeumo was signed by Frank in 2020 from French side Troyes, and under the 51-year-old scored 70 goals in 242 games – including 20 in the Premier League this season.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the Cameroon international praised Frank for the impact he has had on his career so far, and believes whoever replaces him will have a big task on their hands.
“He’s done so much for me. He literally trusted me from the start,” Mbeumo said. “I think he developed the team so well.
“He developed me as a human and a player as well. So I can only wish him all the best, and I’m sure he’s going to do well.
“I think he knows everything. He’s really smart. He knows where he wants to bring the team, how he wants to play. I think he’s been fantastic for Brentford.
“I think he’s going to have some time to adapt, obviously. [Champions League] games, more expectations, but I’m sure he’s going to do well.
“He knows how to talk to people. He knows how to build a group. And that’s why we’ve been playing so well.
“It’s big shoes to fill. I think, [Frank had] seven years as a head coach. So, obviously it’s going to be changing, but let’s see.”
The 25-year-old remain tight-lipped on his future, however, with links to both Manchester United and now Spurs under his former boss.
“It [transfer speculation] is a bit new for me I would say,” he said. “I think it can be the life of a footballer and you need to accept it.”
