Brentford have accepted a Manchester United bid for Bryan Mbeumo worth £71m including add-ons.
Manchester United had seen two earlier offers turned down for the Cameroon offer but returned with an improved bid on Thursday.
The proposal is worth an initial £65m, with a further £6m dependent on add-ons. The Athletic have revealed that the £65m initial fee will be paid in four instalments.
Brentford have now accepted the offer with Mbeumo having made clear his desire to move to Old Trafford. The 25-year-old turned down interest from rival Premier League teams after indicating his preference for Manchester United.
Mbeumo is set to become Manchester United’s second major signing of the summer, following the arrival of Matheus Cunha from Wolves.
He emerged as a leading target for Ruben Amorim after a career-best campaign with Brentford, in which Mbeumo scored 20 goals in the Premier League and added eight assists.
Manchester United, who begin their pre-season campaign against Leeds United tomorrow, will hope to have Mbeumo signed and available in time for the club’s pre-season tour of the United States.
The Red Devils will take on West Ham in their first fixture of the Premier League Summer Series on July 27th.
