Real Madrid forward Brahim Diaz addressed the media ahead of his team’s crucial FIFA Club World Cup encounter against RB Salzburg.
The Spaniard, who has been growing in importance within the squad, shared his thoughts on several key topics, including competition for places, his own goals, and the arrival of Kylian Mbappe.
Speaking about his ambitions, Brahim made his intentions clear. “I always have the ambition to succeed here; I’ve always wanted to. I’m succeeding, and I want to be a starter,” he said confidently.
With attacking competition fiercer than ever at Madrid, Brahim acknowledged the challenge but welcomed it: “We know the competition there is. We’re among the best players in the world, and I want to give my all to be a starter.”
When asked about Rodrygo, whose starting role has recently been under scrutiny, Brahim showed support: “We know what a great player he is and how important he is to the team. We’re delighted with Rodrygo.”

Brahim was candid when asked about Kylian Mbappe, who has recently joined the squad. “At first, I thought he was weak, to be honest,” Brahim admitted, “but now that he’s in the locker room, you can see Kylian is there.
“I’m really looking forward to his arrival because he’s a great player.”
He also spoke positively about new manager Xabi Alonso, who has quickly made an impression since taking charge.
“Now there’s a new coach, who has shown how great he is. He knows the club well and understands the demands. I’m delighted,” he said, noting Alonso’s understanding of Real Madrid’s identity and pressure.
Looking at the team overall, particularly in midfield, Brahim remains optimistic. “We’re all very good, and we’re sure to help the team win titles. Above all, we need to work for the team—that’s what it’s all about,” he concluded.
