As reported by HLN, Club Brugge will have to do without Romeo Vermant until after the September international break. The young striker picked up an injury during the sides impressive 3-1 victory over Rangers in Champions League qualification. The 21-year-old had opened the scoring for the side after just a few minutes, taking advantage of some terrible defending from the home side. However, during the first half, the striker picked up a muscle injury and had to come off. Vermant will be missing for Club Brugge during the return fixture and a handful of league games.

Vermant has been the sides first choice up front to start the season. While he has yet to score in the league, the striker has been crucial in Champions League qualification with two goals in three games. Summer signing and another 21-year-old Nicolo Tresoldi may now get an extended run in the side. Like Vermant, Tresoldi has yet to score, but he has been getting in good positions and it should only be a matter of time before he opens his account for Club Brugge.

Even without Vermant, Club Brugge and Nicky Hayen should be confident of progression to the league stages of the Champions League with their 3-1 advantage heading back to Brugge.
