Rovers announced the news via a post on their official club website this morning.
The 23-year-old joins the Lancashire club off the back of a period combining playing football with her studies in the United States. Johnson turned out for the Arizona State Sun Devils during her time Stateside.
Johnson represented Lincoln City in her youth before joining the Leicester City Regional Talent Centre (RTC). The player turned out for The Foxes in the professional game. She made 17 senior appearances for the club in league competition in which she scored two goals. Johnson also had a spell with Nottingham Forest prior to moving to America.
On the international stage, Johnson has represented England up to and including Under-19 level.
After signing on at Ewood Park, Johnson said “I’m very happy to be here, it’s a huge Club in the North-West with really good ambitions, so I’m grateful to be here and thankful for the move.
“Simon [Parker] gave me a ring last week and said that he was interested in bringing me in, and he talked to me about the style of football and where the Club wants to be and I thought it was a great fit, so I’m really happy to sign.
“I’m quite a physical player, I like to get in battles one versus one, get in duels and win the ball, but I also like to get up and down the flank, and put some deliveries and balls into the box for the attackers to finish.
“I want to give it my all, I want to help win games, I’m a competitor and I want to win.”
Blackburn Rovers are next in action on Sunday 16 February 2025 when they travel to Durham in the Barclays Women’s Championship.
