Blackburn confirm Eustace asks to speak to Championship rival | OneFootball

Blackburn have confirmed manager John Eustace has asked to speak to another Championship club, which is Derby County.

While Rovers did not name the Rams in their official club statement, it has been widely reported that they had targeted their former player Eustace as their next manager.

The 45-year-old requested permission after a clause in his contract was activated, a move which greatly disappointed the club.

Eustace has been in charge at Ewood Park for exactly a year as of Tuesday, and has the club in sixth place in the Championship and chasing promotion.

If he was to depart for Pride Park, he would be inheriting a Derby side 16 places lower, and fighting relegation.
