Birmingham City sign former Aston Villa forward Magill | OneFootball

Birmingham City have completed the signing of former Aston Villa forward Simone Magill on a free transfer.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from the Blues this evening.

Magill joins Birmingham City after leaving former club Aston Villa earlier this summer. She has signed a two-year deal with the Blues.

The 29-year-old Northern Ireland international spent two years with Aston Villa in which she made 17 appearances for the club in the Barclays Women’s Super League. Magill battled back to fitness from an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury which she sustained just days after joining The Villans in summer 2022.

Prior to her time with Aston Villa, Magill enjoyed a nine-year spell with Everton where she won two Player of the Season awards.

On the international stage, Magill has been capped by Northern Ireland on 85 occasions while she has scored 25 goals.

After joining Birmingham City, Magill said “I’m really excited to be here and get started. It’s a really exciting prospect here at the Club, so I am delighted to finally be here and to sign.

“The ambition and the direction here is very exciting. When deciding on my next move for me in my career, I feel like it was a good decision to come, I feel like the fit was right and hopefully I can play a part in getting this Club to where it wants to be.”

Magill is Birmingham City’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window.
