Elísabet Gunnarsdottir’s side have been placed in a difficult Group B for the tournament which also includes tournament favourites Spain, Portugal, and Italy.

Belgium reached the tournament after defeating Greece and Ukraine in the play-offs, after finishing third in their qualifying group behind Spain and Denmark.

It is the third consecutive time that they have qualified for the Women’s Euros. Before Euro 2017, Belgium had failed to ever qualify for the tournament.

In 2022, they reached the quarter-finals where they lost to Sweden after a 92nd minute winner from Linda Sembrandt.

The Euro 2025 fixture schedule sees Belgium kick-off their campaign against Italy on June 3rd in Sion. They then face Spain and Portugal on July 7th and 11th respectively.

Leicester City duo Janice Cayman and Sara Kees are among four WSL players who have been selected in the Belgium squad for Women’s Euro 2025.

Cayman, who joined Leicester in 2023, is Belgium’s all-time appearance leader. Heading into the Women’s Euros, she has scored 48 goals in 155 appearances for the Belgian national side.

The 36-year-old has previously operated as a midfielder during her career but more recently has played in defence.

Kees, who joined Leicester last summer, has represented Belgium over 30 times on the international stage.

They are joined by West Ham defender Amber Tysiak, and Everton midfielder Justine Vanhaevermaet.

Tysiak, alongside Kees and Cayman, was strong in defence for Belgium as they beat Ukraine 4-1 on aggregate in their two-legged play-off to make the tournament.

Vanhaervermaet, 33, also provides plenty of experience with 67 caps for her country.

Of their group opponents, only Spain have announced their Euro 2025 squad. Jenni Hermoso has been omitted from the squad which includes three WSL players.
