Bayern Munich pondering a move for Liverpool target Castello Lukeba | OneFootball

According to Sky Germany, Bayern Munich are pondering a potential move for Castello Lukeba (22) during the summer transfer window. The RB Leipzig defender is expected to leave Eastern Germany in the summer window due to the heightened interest shown in his services from around the continent.

Liverpool have shown an interest in signing the former Lyon centre-back, Christian Falk understands. In addition, Real Madrid are also thought to be admirers of Lukeba. Bayern’s sporting director, Max Eberl, is a big fan of the 22-year-old and considers him an option to bolster the Bundesliga club’s defence.

Too expensive

Despite the interest in his service, the German outfit view Lukeba as too expensive at this moment. A release clause in the Frenchman’s contract could see him leave Leipzig for €90m in the summer. However, this figure is expected to drop season by season. In 2026, the centre-back could be signed for €80m and then in 2027 for €65m.
