Bayern Munich remain hopeful of securing a deal for VfB Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade, with key figures at the club viewing next week as a potential turning point in the transfer saga.
According to Maximilian Koch of Abendzeitung, Woltemade will be part of Stuttgart’s six-day training camp in Tegernsee starting Monday, and Bayern are eyeing this as an opportunity to open direct talks with VfB executives. While no formal negotiations have yet taken place, Bayern insiders believe the setting could facilitate progress, particularly given the cordial relationship between the two clubs.
Importantly, Stuttgart have not publicly declared Woltemade as unsellable, which has further encouraged the Bavarian giants. Koch also reports that certain voices within Stuttgart’s supervisory board are critical of the club’s current stance, potentially softening resistance to a deal.
There is speculation that Uli Hoeneß — Bayern’s honorary president and a long-time influencer behind the scenes — may also get involved due to his residence in the Tegernsee region.
Woltemade, 23, only joined Stuttgart last summer from Werder Bremen but impressed as the club lifted the DFB Pokal last term. Bayern view him as a long-term option up front and are keen to accelerate talks if an opening arises next week.
For now, nothing is imminent — but the upcoming days at Tegernsee could prove decisive.
