Joshua Kimmich is in the final six months of his contract at Bayern Munich and reports this week have suggested that the midfielder is in contact with Real Madrid over a possible transfer.
The 29-year-old has been in talks with the Bavarian giants over a new deal for a long time now but has yet to agree on a new contract and is assessing all possible options before making a decision.
Kimmich, who is also on the radars of clubs like Barcelona and Manchester City, was recently asked about his future at Bayern Munich and the rumours of interest from Real Madrid.
However, the German international opted to keep his cards close to his chest, and stated (h/t Fabrizio Romano):
“To be honest, I can’t stand up every three days and give you an update. There will be an update at some point, but I’m not going to comment on it every three days.”

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich’s sporting director Christoph Freund expressed optimism about retaining Kimmich, stating that he is positive that the German will sign a new contract.
“I’m positive that he will ultimately decide to continue playing for FC Bayern,” Freund told Sky, as quoted by Romano.
Real Madrid, for their part, have denied interest in Kimmich at the moment, but the opportunity to sign the German international for free in the summer can be a tempting one, more so with concerns about Aurelien Tchouameni’s performances.
But, there is a good chance that the midfielder signs a new contract with Bayern, like his teammate and another Real Madrid target, Alphonso Davies.
