Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have reportedly been in contact with super-agent Jorge Mendes to discuss a potential deal for Milan star Rafael Leao, after reports that Germany international Florian Wirtz, who is also of interest to the Bavarians, is closing in on an agreement to join Liverpool.

Reports Bayern have talked Rafael Leao with Jorge Mendes

According to reports from Sky Sport DE expert Florian Plettenberg, Bayern are actively seeking a new ‘star’ player who is capable of playing on the left flank ahead of the summer transfer window.

Bayer Leverkusen’s Wirtz, who is valued in the region of €130m-€150m has been linked with a move to the Allianz Arena, but reports from David Ornstein, Bayern have been informed that the player’s preference is to move to Liverpool instead.

That leaves Bayern exploring alternative options. Among them is Leao, who is currently under contract in San Siro until the summer of 2028.

Sky DE claim that there have already been conversations between representatives from Bayern and Leao’s agent, Jorge Mendes.

Brighton and Hove Albion winger Kaoru Mitoma has also been mentioned as a potential alternative for the Bavarians this summer.
