According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona youth goalkeeper Aron Yaakobishvili is preparing for a loan move this summer, following in the footsteps of fellow young shot-stopper Ander Astralaga.
The 19-year-old, who impressed with the Juvenil A side last season, recently extended his contract until 2028, with the understanding that a loan would be the next step in his development.
Yaakobishvili’s extension came with a clear plan for progression, especially with Astralaga already sent on loan to Granada for a season without a purchase option.
With Astralaga’s departure, the Barça Atletic goalkeeping duties are expected to be shared between Diego Kochen, likely the starter, and Eder Aller. Behind them, Iker Rodriguez and Max Bonfill are set to continue in the Juvenil A side.
Yaakobishvili, who was already close to leaving in January, is now looking for a loan destination where he can gain regular minutes at a competitive level, ideally within a professional league setup.

The uncertainty at the goalkeeper’s role does not end in the youth ranks, as Barcelona’s senior team is also going through a complicated scenario.
With the signing of Joan Garcia from Espanyol (contracted until 2031) and Wojciech Szczesny staying until 2027, there is congestion in Hansi Flick’s goalkeeping department.
While Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Inaki Pena are expected to leave, no concrete offers or strong rumours have emerged. This leaves the senior team in a state of limbo, with too many names and not enough clarity.
Barcelona are trying to restructure their entire goalkeeping ladder, from the first team down to the youth setup.
The loan moves for both Astralaga and potentially Yaakobishvili reflect a clear strategy to let promising goalkeepers grow elsewhere while opening opportunities for others in-house.
Still, with the first team’s situation unresolved, a full resolution across all levels remains a work in progress.
