An up-and-coming member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has this week seen his talents recognised, by way of a call-up to his country’s senior national setup.
The player in question? Ahmed Elmsmari.
Elmsmari, for his part, is an 18-year-old attacker, who generally lines out at centre-forward.
After turning heads with his performances in the academy of Rayo Vallecano last season, the youngster was snapped up by Barcelona over the summer, since linking up with the Blaugrana’s U18s.
And, as alluded to above, Elmsmari’s form has this week proven enough to earn for the frontman a national team call-up, too.
As per a statement across Barcelona’s La Masia social media platforms, the summer arrival at the club has been drafted into the senior Libyan squad, ahead of an upcoming meeting with Benin.
This marks the 2nd occasion in the space of the last week that a Barcelona youth talent has been called up by his country, after goalkeeper Diego Kochen was included in the latest USA senior squad.
