The arrival of Hansi Flick on the FC Barcelona bench spurred several Blaugrana players to take their game a notch upwards and this improvement in form was clearly observable in this first half of the season.
One of the most prominent of these players is the Brazilian forward Raphinha, who has already scored 17 goals and provided 8 assists in 25 appearances up to now.
These numbers are a significant improvement compared to his last two seasons at the Catalan club, where he scored 10 goals and provided 11 assists in 2023-24, and 10 goals and 12 assists in 2022-23.
However, as Mundo Deportivo has noted, these numbers could have been even better had his teammates taken better advantage of his key passes.
This aspect has been brought forward by a video doing rounds on social media which shows all the great passes that the Brazilian has put in this season but which were not finished by his teammates.
One can argue that this is a part and parcel of a game like a football, which is essentially a team sport, and all the parts of a team work together to achieve their objectives. Raphinha himself has taken advantage of several exquisite passes this season to take his goal tally to 17 and has also missed some chances from very promising positions.
Thus, this phenomenon is rather natural, but there is still no doubt that in an ideal world, the Brazilian would have even more goal contributions to his name than he already has. This is just another testament to the huge leap that the Barcelona forward has taken this season under Flick.
Hopefully, the Brazilian will continue to perform at this level in this second half of the season as well, and his teammates will take full advantage of the opportunities he creates for them to help Barcelona win important pieces of silverware this season.
