Barcelona will aim to extend their lead in the La Liga to three points against Girona this afternoon.
The league leaders take on their Catalan neighbours in an important clash at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium.
Barcelona have been in good form and recorded a fifth straight win in all competitions on Thursday night. Hansi Flick’s side eased past Osasuna 3-0 in a rearranged fixture, courtesy of goals Ferran Torres, Dani Olmo and Robert Lewandowski.
Their opponents upset the odds and secured Champions League qualification last season but have found things tougher this time around. Girona are currently 13th in the La Liga table. Michel’s team have won just once in the league in nine games and have drawn their last three.
Raphinha is set to be available again after missing the win over Osasuna due to international commitments. There’s also positive news on Pau Cubarsi, who is fit for selection despite sustaining an ankle injury while representing Spain during the break. The teenager withdrew from the squad with the issue but has been passed fit.
Dani Olmo is out, however, after picking up a muscular problem on Thursday night. The midfielder joins Andreas Christensen, Marc Casado, Marc-Andre ter Stefgen and Marc Bernal in the treatment room.
Barcelona predicted XI: Szczesny; Kounde, Araujo, Cubarsi, Balde; De Jong, Pedri, Gavi; Yamal, Raphinha, Lewandowski.
Barcelona host Girona in La Liga on Sunday 30th March 2025. Kick-off is 15:15 BST.
Barcelona vs Girona is available to watch live on La Liga TV and Premier Sports in the UK.
