Barcelona host Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash this evening.
The Spanish side are viewed as favourites for the trophy but will not be complacent against a Dortmund side who reached last season’s final. Hansi Flick’s side are in pursuit of a treble and face a defining period in their season.
Barcelona lead La Liga by four points and face a Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid later this month, in addition to this quarter-final tie. The Catalans are currently unbeaten in 22 games across all competitions.
Dortmund, in contrast, have endured a tough season. Their European form has alleviated some of the scrutiny on a difficult domestic campaign. Eighth in the Bundesliga, Dortmund are facing an uphill battle to secure European football for next season.
Dani Olmo remains out for Barcelona with a muscular issue and joins Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Marc Casado and Marc Bernal. The latter trio will not play again this season.
Inigo Martinez remains a doubt with the issue that saw the centre-back pull out of international duty last month but could return to the squad. The Spaniards have an otherwise full complement of options at their disposal.
Barcelona predicted XI: Szczesny; Kounde, Cubarsi, Araujo, Balde; De Jong, Pedri, Gavi; Yamal, Raphinha; Lewandowski.
Barcelona host Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday 9th April 2025. Kick-off is 20:00 BST.
