The Catalan media has been focused on Joan Garcia in recent days, so much so that it feels like it was weeks ago that Barcelona were linked with wingers.

Luis Diaz, for long, has been rumoured to be Deco’s favoured target to reinforce the left-wing department but Marcus Rashford has also emerged as a strong contender in recent days.

While the latter’s case sees Manchester United pushing for a transfer instead of a loan move, Diaz’s case is further complicated by his contractual situation and the large asking fee Liverpool demand.

A cryptic post

Opening up on her Instagram account, the Colombian star’s fiancee Gera Ponce penned out an emotional post that almost seems to be a farewell to Liverpool and indicative of a departure.

“To the incredible fans of Liverpool. From the first day we arrived, we felt in the flesh what it means to be part of this club,” she began.

“We knew that the motto was ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, but hearing them sing it with so much passion, supporting us at every moment and showing such unconditional love confirmed to us that here you never walk alone,” she added emotionally.

She then went on to express her gratitude to Liverpool, Anfield and the club faithful for showering love on Diaz.

“This fan not only supports, it feels. And what you have made my boyfriend and our whole family feel is something we carry in our souls. Thank you for so much love, for so much dedication and for making us feel at home.”

“Being part of this club is a privilege. There is no doubt: they are the best in the world. This is a real, deep and strong bond, which reaffirms to me that we’ll never walk alone,” she concluded.

Ponce’s letter, needless to say, raises speculation once more on the player’s situation at Liverpool and what appears to be a sure-shot departure from the club. After all, the player’s social media post struck a similar chord.

It is queer considering that the player is still contractually obligated to Liverpool and that links to Barcelona have cooled in recent days, but the development could well mean a third club is in the fray with Al-Nassr rumoured to be involved.
