Barcelona starting XI against Getafe | La Liga | OneFootball

FC Barcelona are set to kick off their game against Getafe soon in La Liga. After enjoying some success in two different cups across the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup, Hansi Flick’s team returns to league action. However, Barcelona can not afford to drop any unnecessary points here.

With Atletico Madrid having recently lost to Leganes, this is a great opportunity for the Catalan giants to close the gap. However, with Getafe always being a tough opponent to take on, Hansi Flick has decided to field a strong lineup for Barcelona.

In goal, as expected, Inaki Pena takes up the position between the sticks and he will be tasked with restricting Getafe as much as possible offensively. However, he will need to keep himself active at all times considering that the opposition has a knack of getting goals against the run of play.

Ahead of him, Ronald Araujo and Pau Cubarsi will form the centre-back partnership that will defend Pena’s goal for this game, as Inigo Martinez remains sidelined. Both players have their own unique strengths, and Flick’s team will need both of them to step up.

On either flank, Alejandro Balde and Jules Kounde will be the players who start as the two fullbacks. The Spaniard and the Frenchman have been in fine form recently, and they will be hoping to continue that in this game.

The two defensive midfielders right ahead of them will be Marc Casado and Gavi, and both Spaniards will be looking to connect play with both their attackers and their defenders as well when playing out from the back.

Up top, Lamine Yamal and Raphinha will start as the two wide men. Both of them have been in exceptional form recently and are enjoying great campaigns, and Flick will be expecting great things from then. In between them, right behind the centre-forward, will be Pedri as he looks to make use of his creativity and goalscoring threat.

Lastly, as the primary centre-forward, Robert Lewandowski starts for Hansi Flick’s team in this important encounter. The Barcelona ace will undoubtedly want to get on the scoresheet, as he hopes to add to his tally in hopes of winning the Pichichi award come the end of the season.
