Barcelona starlet set for ‘a few months’ on the sidelines with injury | OneFootball

One of the standout young talents on the books of La Liga giants Barcelona is set for an upcoming spell on the sidelines.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Òscar Gistau as the player in question.

Gistau, for those not familiar with his name, is a 16-year-old centre-forward who has long been making a name for himself as a potential star in the making.

Despite his tender years, Gistau is already a regular with Barca Atlètic, the Spaniard’s goalscoring exploits having sparked widespread excitement behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

Safe to say, then, that it will mark a blow for all associated with Barcelona to learn of Gistau’s development, for the time being, coming to a halt.

As revealed by Sport, the young frontman this week underwent surgery in Finland.

As much came in an effort to definitively resolve a long-standing right hamstring issue.

Gistau, in turn, is expected to spend a minimum of ‘a few months’ on the treatment table moving forward.
