According to SPORT, Pablo Torre’s future at Barcelona is hanging by a thread, with Sunday’s clash against Athletic Club potentially marking his final appearance in the iconic Blaugrana shirt.

Once regarded as one of the most technically gifted midfielders in his age group, Torre now finds himself on the fringes of the squad under Hansi Flick, who has shown no real intention of integrating him into his long-term plans.

Torre’s current situation is a stark contrast to the excitement that surrounded his arrival. Touted as a creative spark capable of unlocking defences and dictating tempo, Torre was viewed internally as a long-term asset.

However, reality has not reflected that potential. Despite being a club investment and considered among the most talented midfielders in the squad, the 22-year-old has rarely featured under Flick.

Barcelona are keeping all options open

The midfielder’s lack of minutes isn’t due to a long-term injury. Although he struggled with a minor knee issue earlier this month, the truth is that Torre has not played a single minute since the end of March.

His last start in La Liga came back in September, which paints a clear picture: Flick simply does not see him as a part of the competitive core of this Barcelona side.

With this in mind, all options are on the table. The club could look to sell him this summer to gain some financial return, especially with the player still holding market value.

A contract extension hasn’t been ruled out either, but it is unclear if that would come with a loan, a permanent move elsewhere, or merely be a strategy to protect his value.

At this point, it is even uncertain whether Torre will feature in the final matchday against Athletic Club, let alone start. Flick’s decisions suggest Torre is firmly on the periphery, and the likelihood of him staying at Barcelona next season is dwindling with every passing day.
