Barcelona star to remain at Euro 2024 despite injury | OneFootball

A leading member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has been given permission to remain with his national team squad, despite suffering a recent injury.

The player in question? Pedri.

The headline news in Catalunya’s capital over the course of the last 24 hours has of course come in the form of the latest injury suffered by Pedri.

Forced into a departure from Spain’s Euro 2024 meeting with Germany during the opening exchanges, the 21-year-old is now expected to spend at least a month on the sidelines with a knee injury.

As much means the end of Pedri’s efforts on the pitch at the Euros, with the expectation having been that he would therefore swiftly depart for Barcelona to begin treatment.

If the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, however, then this in fact will not prove to be the case.

As per a report from Diario Sport’s Jordi Gil, the plan is instead for Pedri to remain with the rest of Luis de la Fuente’s squad for the remainder of the tournament.

This comes with the midfielder considered an important figure in La Roja’s dressing room.
