Barcelona star receives phone call from manager of La Liga rivals | OneFootball

An up-and-coming member of the attacking ranks at Barcelona was this week the recipient of a phone call on the part of RCD Mallorca head coach Jagoba Arrasate.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Jan Virgili as the player in question.

The name of winger Virgili has emerged as an altogether prominent one in the media chatter across Spain over recent weeks.

This comes after the 18-year-old played a starring role for La Roja, en route to booking their spot in the finale of the U19 European Championships.

Such excellence since gave rise to a place in Barcelona’s first-team setup for pre-season training last week, too.

And as alluded to above, such impressive exploits on Virgili’s part have evidently not gone unnoticed behind the scenes at another of La Liga’s clubs.

As per a report from Sport:

‘Mallorca manager Jagoba Arrasate has already called the Catalan winger to explain his role if he lands in Mallorca. The same formula that he followed with Pablo Torre and that ended up being key to his signing.’

In the case of sanctioning Virgili’s departure, Barcelona are only willing to do so on loan.
