Barcelona star in the sights of Chelsea | OneFootball

A member of the first-team ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona is attracting transfer interest by way of Premier League outfit Chelsea.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Marc-André ter Stegen as the player in question.

Goalkeeper Ter Stegen’s name has of course proven an altogether prominent one in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over recent weeks.

This comes amid the widespread understanding that those behind the scenes at Barcelona are attempting to push the club’s long-time no.1 out.

With Joan García’s arrival now confirmed, Ter Stegen has become somewhat surplus to requirements at the Camp Nou.

To date, no firm proposals have been forthcoming for the 33-year-old, a source of concern for those in the Blaugrana boardroom.

As alluded to above, though, this week, interest in Ter Stegen’s services has been revealed on the part of one of English football’s leading clubs.

As per a report from Sport:

‘Chelsea are reportedly interested in Marc-André’s situation at Barça. The Blues have transferred Kepa and although they have Robert Sanchez as a starter, they are evaluating whether to go for the German goalkeeper.’
