After giving some weeks off to their players for summer vacations, FC Barcelona have already started preparing for the next season. The players underwent physical and medical tests at the end of last week, and since then, they have been training under Hansi Flick.

These players will continue to train for the coming few days, and this training will be suspended only for the upcoming preseason tour of Asia, for which the team is expected to leave on 24th July.

However, as SPORT has noted, not all the players who are currently training under Flick will take the plane for Japan and South Korea next week. Currently, the German coach is training 35 players, including the members of the first team and some talents from the reserve team.

The report claims that the Blaugrana coach is looking to take only 26 players at most for this preseason tour, as he believes 35 players are too many to manage their minutes and assess their performances in the preseason games.

The fates of several Barcelona stars remain to be determined

Thus, some hard decisions will have to be made, and several factors can end up being decisive in which of these players end up going to Asia.

The physical evolution of some players will be the decisive factor in some cases, like that of Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who continues to train on the sidelines.

Similarly, the youth academy players will have to impress the coach in the training prior to the flight to ensure their presence on the list of players who will travel for this tour.

Although Flick is generally happy with the effort these players have shown up to now, not all of them will make this list. However, players like Jan Virgili and Joffre Torrents are highly likely to go to Asia with the rest of the team.

On the other hand, Oriol Romeu, who is not a part of Hansi Flick’s plans for the next season, will not be a part of the expedition, while a decision remains to be made about Pau Victor and Inaki Pena.
