Barcelona are facing a race against time to resolve the registration issues of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, with the club optimistic that a solution can be found by Friday, January 3.
According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, the Blaugrana believe they can resolve the matter once they receive funds from the sale of VIP seats at the future Spotify Camp Nou.
Both Olmo and Victor had their registrations with La Liga valid only until December 31, 2024. However, the club is confident that the necessary changes can be made in time to reinstate the players.
Barcelona are relying on the receipt of all income from their VIP seat sales, which has been delayed due to additional verification requests from La Liga. These requests mainly concern the contracts and payment guarantees related to the seats.
As of now, the club has not been able to confirm that the income was fully transferred from investors based in Qatar and Dubai.

This has caused a delay in certifying the financial documentation required for player registration. The club issued a statement yesterday, indicating their belief that the situation could still be resolved by January 3.
Barcelona’s confidence hinges on article 130.2 of the RFEF General Regulations, though it presents significant challenges.
According to the rule, a player can only be registered with one team of a club during a single season, with exceptions made for “force majeure” or specific regulatory provisions.
Unless the lack of income from the VIP seat sales is interpreted as a case of force majeure, Barcelona may struggle to secure the registration of Olmo and Victor.
As of now, both players remain officially unregistered and are ineligible to represent the club. Barcelona must navigate these legal and regulatory challenges quickly to ensure the duo can continue playing this season.
While the situation is uncertain, the club remains hopeful of resolving the matter with La Liga and the RFEF in the coming days.
