Leading members of the defensive ranks at both Barcelona and Real Madrid are expected to be omitted from Spain’s squad for the upcoming round of Nations League fixtures.
That’s according to Radio Marca, who point towards Iñigo Martínez and Raúl Asencio as the pair in question.
The Spanish national team are primed to mark their return to action early next month.
A highly-anticipated Nations League semi-final clash with Didier Deschamps’ France lies in wait, at the MHP Arena in Stuttgart, Germany.
Luis de la Fuente is expected to call upon a strong squad of players for the fixture, featuring headline stars from a number of Spanish football’s leading clubs.
As alluded to above, though, set for respective snubs on the part of La Roja are Iñigo Martínez, and Raúl Asencio.
As per a report from Radio Marca, despite their impressive respective seasons on opposing sides of the Clásico divide, the two defenders are not in the plans of Luis de la Fuente at present.
The likes of Pau Cubarsí, Aymeric Laporte, Dean Huijsen and Dani Vivian, on the other hand, are expected to be part of Spain’s squad announcement next Monday.
