According to a report from SPORT, it has been learned that Barcelona are now on the verge of abandoning their interest in Luis Diaz after Liverpool made it clear they will not negotiate his departure this summer.
The Premier League side has informed the Colombian’s agents that they would only consider a sale if the full €82 million asking price is met – no discounts, no negotiations.
Barcelona had identified Diaz as a priority signing after missing out on Nico Williams, but this latest update significantly dims the chances of a deal.
While Barça had not yet sent an official offer to Liverpool, they had been in direct contact with the player’s representatives to work out a strategy.
Salary expectations were reportedly manageable, with Diaz open to the kind of deal the Catalan club could offer.

While Barça’s interest was strong, the financial realities of the deal are becoming too much to manage.
Bayern Munich have also entered the race, offering €52 million plus bonuses, and are prepared to go up to €60 million fixed, with variables taking the total close to €80 million.
However, even that has not moved Liverpool, who remain firm on their €82 million valuation.
The English club, for their part, have no urgency to sell. With no clear replacement available in the current market, Liverpool would prefer to keep Diaz in their squad.
From their perspective, the Colombian is a vital part of their plans going forward.
For Barcelona, the situation now looks nearly impossible. The club’s limited financial flexibility means they can’t match Bayern’s offer, let alone Liverpool’s demands.
Unless Diaz himself pushes for the move and Liverpool soften their stance, which appears unlikely, the deal is as good as dead.
