Barcelona outlining priorities for winger as Nico Williams alternatives are considered | OneFootball

News broke on Monday night that Barcelona were giving on Nico Williams as their top transfer target for the summer, with all signs pointing to the Basquee winger remaining in Bilbao. Despite numerous resources on the left side of attack, they appear to be considering a move still for an alternative.

One of the names that has been mentioned as a potential alternative is Juventus winger Federico Chiesa. The 26-year-old Italian forward is no longer part of their plans, and has just a year left on his contract, meaning he could be available for a cut-price fee. Matteo Moretto has revealed to Relevo that he is not being considered for a move by Barcelona currently.

Other names mentioned have been Kingsley Coman, who Moretto notes is further up their list of alternatives compared to Chiesa, and some have claimed that he is in fact the best-placed. The Bayern Munich winger will be allowed to leave Bavaria on loan this summer, meaning a move could be much simpler for the Blaugrana financially.

The likes of Luis Diaz at Liverpool and Rafael Leao at AC Milan have been mentioned as other options, and while it may be that Barcelona have identified them as top talents, both are likely to be out of their price range this year. On Wednesday it emerged that Barcelona will struggle to finish the transfer window within their salary limit.
