Barcelona open negotiations with free agent goalkeeper | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona have on Tuesday entered into discussions with a high-profile free agent goalkeeper.

That’s according to a number of sources late this evening, who point towards Wojciech Szczęsny as the player in question.

The name of shot-stopper Szczęsny has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the course of the last 24 hours.

This comes after word began to mount that the board at the Camp Nou were taking into consideration a move for the Pole, on the back of the serious injury suffered by Marc-André ter Stegen.

Officially retired after the mutual termination of his contract with Juventus over the summer, Szczęsny could be signed by Barca free of charge.

And, evidently, this is a route which the Blaugrana are now taking into real consideration.

As per a report from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, amongst others:

‘Wojciech Szczesny’s agents CAA Stellar have been approached by Barcelona to discuss potential terms.’.

It now remains to be seen whether or not the 34-year-old himself is open to the prospect of linking up with Hansi Flick’s troops for the remainder of the term.
