It is always a worrying sign to see any Barcelona youngster to go down injured. However, it is even more worrying when the player in question is someone with immense talent and who has a lot to offer to the team as well. In recent years, Barcelona has had to deal with various such issues.

Ansu Fati’s case is simply infamous now, and it is clear to see that the Spaniard is not the player that he once was. Constantly being left out of squad lists, Hansi Flick does not seem to have the winger in his plans at the moment. However, there are other cases that have a more positive progression as well.

Pedri, for instance, seems to have finally left his injury woes behind him this season. Now consistently available for selection and producing magic on the field again, the Spanish midfielder is well and truly a game-changer for Barcelona.

Similarly, even Gavi has finally made his long-awaited return from his ACL injury as well. His return in particular was one that offered no guarantees, as the kind of injury he suffered is one of the worst kind for any footballer to deal with.

However, his return has been strong and the Spaniard seems to have lost nothing during his recovery, as even his intensity remains intact it seems. Now, with Marc Bernal currently injured with a similar injury to his ACL, Barcelona are hoping for a positive recovery as well.

Fortunately, there is some good news for the Catalan club it seems. According to Mundo Deportivo, Bernal’s recovery is going quite smoothly and at this rate it is expected that the 17-year-old midfielder will be returning to training on the grass soon enough.

Interestingly, this news comes out right before Barcelona are set to take on Rayo Vallecano for the second time during this La Liga campaign. Coincidentally, the first time that Barcelona played this same fixture during this season was when Bernal ended up getting injured as well.

This is great news for Barcelona, especially considering just how much Hansi Flick appreciated the youngster’s availability when he was fully fit as well. Even now, as per MD, the German coach tries his best to remain an active part of the player’s recovery and interacts with him as much as possible.

As for his future with the club, there is simply no doubt. That is because Bernal’s contract with Barcelona was already renewed during his recovery and he is tied down to the Catalan club until 2029. With that deal, it is already clear to see that Barcelona has a lot of faith in his long-term potential.
