Although Barcelona did not finish 2024 in the best way in terms of results, Dani Olmo, the club’s star summer signing, has taken the time to chat with SPORT to reflect on all the good things that have happened to him in 2024 and what could come in 2025.

The Spanish international, whose registration in La Liga for the second half of the season, has become a headline topic, is not worried about the situation and trusts the club to sort it out, and as such, is enjoying the holiday season with peace of mind.

Even though there is some concern about the registration problem and the team’s dip in form towards the end of 2024, Olmo is confident that he will experience another successful year with Barcelona.

“For the new year, I ask for, first of all, health, for my family, for myself, and for everyone… and also success. With Barça and with the national team. To win titles,” he told SPORT.

Indeed, 2024 has been an excellent year for Olmo. Looking back, he feels proud of everything he has accomplished – winning the UEFA Euro 2024 with Spain where he finished with the Golden Boot, followed by his return to Barcelona a decade after he left.

“It has been a very complete year, with many good moments. But the Euro 2024 and the transfer to Barça are the two I would pick,” he said, when asked to pick his best moments of the year.

“The Euro 2024, because of how everything came together. I also particularly remember when we returned to Spain and saw everyone so passionate about us… That was incredible,” admitted the 26-year-old.

Then there is his return to Barcelona, the team he left ten years ago at the age of 16 after playing for six seasons at La Masia – something he had dreamed of for a long time and which cost him a lot.

“The return home, the first goal with Barça, seeing my family in the stands… These are moments I will always be grateful for from 2024,” explained Olmo, who has a contract with the Catalans until June 30, 2030.

Since arriving from RB Leipzig in the summer, Olmo has seamlessly integrated into Hansi Flick’s team, scoring six and assisting one goal from 15 appearances.

In 2025, the attacking midfielder hopes to score many more goals for Barcelona, to help bring Flick’s team closer to their ultimate goal, which is to win all possible titles.
