The future of Mika Marmol has been in focus lately after the defender put in a transfer request to Las Palmas.

It appears the former Barcelona youth prodigy is keen on playing for a first division club. Las Palmas, to that end, are ready to sell him this summer but not for a cut-price deal.

Marmol had joined Las Palmas in 2023 with Barcelona still owning half his transfer rights. That means the transfer value will be shared equally between Barça and Las Palmas.

Keeping that in mind, Las Palmas have valued Marmol at around €10 million, as the club are keen on receiving at least €5 million for the player.

Marmol not receiving any offers

Las Palmas’ strong stance has led to a dearth of offers for Mika Marmol, with Spanish clubs not willing to pay €10 million for his services.

This is according to Mundo Deportivo, which suggests that Las Palmas are determined to receive at least €5 million for the defender.

As such, the Canaries are asking for €10 million, knowing that Barcelona are entitled to half the amount.

Las Palmas have clearly stated that if interested parties are to lower the operational cost of Marmol, they must directly negotiate with Barcelona regarding the remainder of the €5 million.

This essentially means that any interested party will only need to pay €5 million to Las Palmas for Marmol while negotiating the rest with Barcelona.

Given the Catalans’ desperate need for fresh revenue, it won’t be surprising to see the club lowering their fee by at least a couple of million in order to expedite the sale of Marmol this summer.

It will be interesting to see how things transpire in the coming weeks as Marmol looks to take the next step in his career.
