It is evident that this summer transfer window could be crucial for the future of FC Barcelona. For the first time in a long while, the Catalan club is expected to have some freedom in their operations. However, regardless of that freedom, Barcelona will still need to negotiate with various clubs and players as well.

Beyond just the deals that are being signed to keep revenue floating, or the players that are being sold to ensure that the salary space is kept at a sustainable level, there are some other concerns for Barcelona as well. These concerns, at the moment, involve a variety of intertwined operations.

Three players are currently in limbo of sorts, and that limbo can only be lifted if Barcelona negotiate with a certain fellow Catalan club. According to Diario AS, the likes of Pau Victor, Eric Garcia, and Oriol Romeu are currently all set to be topics of discussion between Barcelona and Girona.

That is because the interests of both Catalan clubs are intertwined in this case and they hope to find a solution for all three players. Starting with Pau Victor, the only player out of the three mentioned names that Barça are actively trying to follow and keep, the negotiations for him will now likely be different than they were before.

After the departure of Marc Guiu to Chelsea, Barcelona are willing to bring Victor back into the club. However, they have missed the deadline to sign him for €3 million, but Barcelona could look to negotiate with Girona by using Eric Garcia as a type of bargaining chip.

Michel’s side has seemingly found Garcia’s best version, and perhaps a like-for-like loan deal could be agreed upon. In that way, Pau Victor could spend another season at Barcelona while the Spanish defender returns to Girona from Barça and spends another season on loan given the center-back overbooking that is already there within FC Barcelona.

However, there is also the case of Spanish veteran Oriol Romeu to be decided. The former Girona midfielder has not found consistency or praise at Barcelona with his performances, and it is reported that Michel would not mind having him back in his team. Thus, it now becomes a three-way discussion between FC Barcelona and Girona as they look to find a common middle ground for all three players.
