Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet, who is currently on loan at Atletico Madrid, has shared his thoughts about what could happen next season.
The French centre-back has found some form with Atletico and is happy with how things are going. Speaking openly, he said that he enjoys being part of Diego Simeone’s squad and is doing his best to help the team this season.
Lenglet explained that he is focused on doing his job well every day and is not thinking too far ahead.
“I’m approaching this first season with Atletico with great excitement, eager to contribute to the team, and working every day like a professional in training and when it’s my turn to play. “
Though he would like to continue at Atletico, Lenglet made it clear that the decision is not entirely his. Since he still has a contract with Barcelona, the two clubs need to find an agreement.
“Then we will see what happens because I have a two-year contract with Barcelona, and we haven’t talked about the future yet,” he said as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.

It is no secret that Atletico Madrid have been impressed with Lenglet’s performances this season. In fact, reports suggest they are now considering the possibility of signing him permanently.
His solid displays have made him a valuable option for Simeone, who appreciates reliable defenders.
Meanwhile, Barcelona are not planning to bring him back. The club does not see him as part of their future plans, and his salary is too high to fit within their tight budget. They are hoping to offload him permanently in the summer.
This gives Atletico an advantage, but Lenglet’s recent form has also raised his market value.
That could complicate things if other clubs join the race or if Barcelona demand a higher transfer fee. Still, for now, Lenglet is happy in Madrid and if Atletico make the right move, he might just stay.
