A player to have been tipped to make the move to La Liga giants Barcelona this summer on Wednesday enjoyed an outing to remember on the international front.

The man in question? Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Wide-man Kvaratskhelia led his country back into action a short time ago.

In their final group stage outing at Euro 2024, Georgia locked horns with star-studded Portugal, in the knowledge that the odds were stacked firmly against them.

When all was said and done, though, the former conjured up a performance for the ages, on their way to a 2-0 triumph, and a place in the competition’s Last-16.

Kvaratskhelia, for his part, was front and centre in as much, opening the scoring inside the two-minute mark courtesy of an unerring finish.

This was far from the Napoli star’s only telling contribution, though, with ‘Kvaradona’ having dazzled throughout the 90 minutes.

Making full use of his pace, quick feet and seemingly limitless confidence, the 23-year-old terrorised Portugal, dragging Georgia forward on the break time and time again.

And Kvaratskhelia did not at all shirk his responsibilities on the defensive side of the ball, either, working his socks off in a total display.

As alluded to above, Spanish heavyweights Barcelona have been widely rumoured to be keeping en eye on Napoli’s explosive winger, amid their ongoing search for reinforcements out wide.

And on Wednesday, he provided a timely reminder of precisely why.

The fact that as much came whilst a leading member of the attacking ranks in Catalunya’s capital from last season – in João Félix – struggled to make a telling impact at the other end, made Kvaratskhelia’s brilliance all the more noteworthy.
