Barcelona are leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to sign Joan Garcia from RCD Espanyol this summer.
The La Liga champions are prepared to activate his €25 million release clause and have also presented him with a five-year contract offer.
Despite interest from several other clubs, the Blaugrana have made the most progress in the race but the goalkeeper is yet to make a final decision on his next move.
As reported earlier today, Garcia has set a condition that he wants to play regularly as the first-choice goalkeeper wherever he moves and the presence of Marc-Andre ter Stegen at Barcelona was thus becoming a deterrent.
Providing an update on the situation, journalist Matteo Moretto (h/t Carpetas FCB) reports that Joan Garcia was indeed not fully convinced about a potential move to Barcelona.
However, the 24-year-old Spaniard has now changed his stance and is more open to all possibilities, including the idea of joining the Blaugrana.

This comes after he has received guarantees from Barcelona’s sporting director Deco and manager Hansi Flick, indicating that the Catalan giants are making good, meaningful progress in pursuit of their key target.
In fact, another update from Santi Aouna states that Garcia is now expected to give the green light to the Barcelona move.
What this could also mean is that Barcelona are prepared to move on from Ter Stegen and install Garcia as the first choice between the sticks should he agree to the transfer.
The situation could become complicated as the German international has shown no indication of wanting to leave.
A decision is expected in the coming days but there is optimism within the Barcelona camp that Garcia will end up making the move from their local rivals.
