After an impressive start to the new season, Barcelona have a tough road ahead, as they brace themselves for a series of tough contests.

The club, therefore, would require the return of their injured players as soon as they can, as coach Hansi Flick looks to have a fully-fledged team before the tough games kick in.

Ronald Araujo is among the players likely to return to action by the end of this year, with many in the Barcelona camp counting on his availability.

Araujo undergoing faster recovery

According to Diario SPORT, Araujo is going through a faster-than-expected recovery, which is a good sign for Barcelona.

In fact, if the positive feelings around the defender’s recovery continue, his return could be pushed forward by a few weeks.

Araujo was initially expected to return to contention by December. But at this pace, there is a possibility he could return to fitness by the end of November.

When will Araujo start playing?

Return to fitness does not necessarily mean Araujo will be available to play regularly for Barcelona.

The report suggests Barcelona have a set plan for the Uruguayan international, which is to have him regain full rhythm by December.

Barça’s goal is to have Araujo at 100% and available for all the important games starting from January 2025.

Until then, the club are likely to continue with the defensive pairing of Inigo Martinez and Pau Cubarsi.

Many even believe that Araujo may have a difficult time gaining regular game-time thanks to the brilliant start given by the defensive duo.

As far as Araujo’s future is concerned, the defender remains keen on prolonging his stay at Camp Nou and a new deal could soon be on the horizon.
