According to a report by SPORT, Barcelona have advised Ansu Fati’s representatives to start looking for potential exits for him this summer.

It is said that although the winger is set to join Barcelona’s pre-season tour in the United States, it appears increasingly unlikely that he will remain with the team.

Barcelona’s primary aim, in that regard, seems to be to reduce their wage bill, and while they are open to significant transfer offers, such prospects are slim following his recent loan spell at Brighton, where he faced physical challenges.

The start of the pre-season has been specially requested by Hansi Flick, who wishes to assess Ansu’s performance firsthand before making a final decision.

Flick plans to have a candid discussion with the player, offering clarity on his potential playing time for the upcoming season.

This approach allows Ansu ample time to consider his future options, a process facilitated by his agent Jorge Mendes, who is exploring various loan opportunities for the forward.

Barcelona are happy with the current roster

Currently, Barcelona’s roster appears to be shaping up with additions like Robert Lewandowski, Ferran Torres, Lamine Yamal, and Raphinha, alongside the likely retention of Joao Felix.

This influx leaves decisions pending on players like Vitor Roque, whose future at the club remains uncertain, and Ansu.

If financial constraints permit, Barcelona intend to recruit another left-wing winger, potentially leading to Ansu Fati’s departure through either sale or loan.

Barcelona want a permanent solution for Ansu Fati

Should Barcelona decide against retaining Ansu, a permanent transfer would be preferable. His contract extends until 2027, and his departure would significantly aid in balancing the squad’s financial books.

However, he is hesitant about leaving, particularly severing ties with Barcelona completely, with his decision heavily influenced by the offers that materialize.

Currently, the only outright sale option appears to be from Saudi Arabia, an avenue his representatives are not considering.

In exploring potential destinations, Mendes is focusing on opportunities within La Liga. Clubs such as Sevilla, Betis, and Valencia have shown interest, albeit without financial terms favourable to Barcelona, contrasting with Brighton’s arrangement covering nearly 70% of his expenses.

Wolverhampton Wanderers also remain a viable option, given their association with Mendes, although the winger’s preference leans towards remaining in Spain, should he depart Barcelona.
