Player registrations remain a massive concern for FC Barcelona prior to the start of the official season. The club wants to make sure that at least the new signings are registered by then, but that is not all that remains unresolved. Two quarry players, who made the jump to the first team, will also need senior-team numbers, it seems.
Gerard Martin and Marc Bernal, according to SPORT, will have to be included as first-team players following the start of the new season. This was included in their new contracts, and the club will have to adjust accordingly.

With the option of using Marc-Andre Ter Stegen’s recovery to help with player registrations now discarded, the most viable option remains to wait until the VIP seats operation is validated.
Once that happens, the club is confident that registrations will no longer be an issue and that it will end up covering the issues concerning Martin and Bernal as well.
Unfortunately, the report also clarifies that there are no guarantees. Whereas Roony Bardghji can be registered with Barça Atletic, the registrations of Marcus Rashford, Joan Garcia, and Wojciech Szczesny are crucial, and they are seen as the top priorities.
As for Bernal and Martin, the club will try whatever it can to ensure that they are also given first-team numbers. Still, regardless of what happens, the club will reportedly implement the salary upgrades for both players moving forward.
While they may not be starters just yet, with Martin serving as an alternative option for the left-back position and Bernal still not fully recovered, they are important players for different reasons. That would explain why Barcelona are also concerned about the issues related to them and is working to resolve them.
