Over the past few days, there has been a lot of buzz surrounding Eric Garcia and his future at FC Barcelona.
The Catalans need to sell a player to make room for Marcus Rashford’s arrival and with Ansu Fati reluctant to leave, Garcia has emerged as the likeliest candidate to leave.
Furthermore, the Spanish defender has a number of suitors as well, with Girona being keen on securing his services while Como have also made an offer for him.
It was reported earlier in the week that Barça would be open to his exit, given that it would free up the necessary salary space to bring Rashford in.
However, according to SPORT, as things stand, Garcia is not leaving Barcelona. The Catalans have received several offers for the player, but they are currently deemed insufficient, and Hansi Flick prefers to keep him in the squad.
The versatile defender is content at Barcelona and is awaiting developments. He would only leave if the club ask him to do so, which has not yet happened.

However, it cannot be ruled out that a move could materialise depending on how the market progresses in the final days of January.
Girona and Como are interested as mentioned earlier, but their offers fall short of the valuation for a player who has largely featured in Flick’s rotation.
The offers for the ex-Manchester City man are reaching a maximum of €10 million, including fixed fees and variables, an amount Barça consider too low. However, both Girona and Como are likely to remain patient, hoping the Blaugrana will eventually relent.
The La Liga giants do not want to rush into a decision, understanding that the market may heat up in the final days of January. Ultimately, the final decision may come down to the player.
If Garcia were to leave, his preference would be to join Girona, although Como have been pushing hard, with their manager Cesc Fabregas directly intervening to try to persuade the player.
