According to press reports, including one from MARCA, Spanish goalkeeper and La Masia graduate Inaki Pena has decided to leave the club this summer in order to look for a chance to prove himself after losing hope of doing so at Barcelona.
According to reports from the same newspaper, the player has made a serious decision to leave Barcelona this summer and continue his career away from La Liga and his parent club Barcelona.
With the arrival of a new goalkeeper, and the loss of the opportunity to be the number two after Ter Stegen was injured and Wojciech Szczesny took that opportunity for most of last season, the player has already made his final decision to leave after a long time of thinking about his future.
The arrival of young talent Joan García from Espanyol to the Catalan giants could be the final reason why the La Masia graduate is looking for a new experience to prove himself and to feel energised again as well.
The writing appears to be on the wall for Pena's Spanish chapter. Unless a last-minute lifeline emerges from an unexpected La Liga suitor, the midfielder has mentally turned the page on his domestic career. His gaze now fixed firmly beyond Spain's borders.
Multiple international offers already sit on his agent's desk - each representing not just a new club, but a new beginning. For Pena, this isn't merely about changing teams; it's about rewriting his narrative. The priority? Regular minutes on fresh turf where his skills can flourish anew.
