The failed pursuit of Nico Williams has led Barcelona to consider alternatives in the market as the club desperately look to reinforce their ranks in the attacking department.

The Catalans are reportedly considering up to four options in the market right now, but one option that stands out the most is Marcus Rashford.

The Englishman might not necessarily be the best player of the four, but he is certainly the most realistic target for Barça, especially from an economic perspective.

Rashford knows that quite well, which is perhaps why the forward has dropped a major hint on social media about his desire to join Barcelona this summer.

Rashford follows a few Barcelona players on Instagram

As reported by SPORT, Rashford, who is no longer in Manchester United’s long-term plans, has recently followed a number of Barcelona players on his official Instagram account.

This includes the likes of Pedri and Robert Lewandowski. He also already follows the club’s official account, and among the 229 accounts he currently follows is Lamine Yamal.

The English forward was also featured in a YouTube video uploaded by xBuyer, where he answered a few questions about football, including his admiration for Yamal.

“Yes, of course. We all want to play with the best. Hopefully, we’ll see,” said Rashford, when asked whether he would like to play with Lamine Yamal.

Rashford also offered glowing praise for the Barça teenager: “He is going to be. It’s hard to describe in words what you’re doing because you shouldn’t be doing this at 16-17 years old. He’s playing in the elite at just 17 years old, I don’t think we’ve seen him before.”

Rashford’s comments can certainly be perceived as a come and get me plea from the Englishman as he desperately looks to push for a move to Catalonia.

Recent reports indicate that Barcelona have already accelerated their pursuit of the Manchester United striker, so it will be interesting to see whether or not the club can wrap the deal in the coming weeks.
