FC Barcelona are getting prepared to go out for some last-minute shopping in this transfer window. The Catalan giants have not had everything go their way this summer, but they still hope to get more out of it. However, to make that happen, Barcelona will first need to generate soon salary space.

To do that, the names of various unwanted players are being considered as saleable assets, and even the name of Ilkay Gundogan has now been thrown into the mix. However, beyond just the dilemma of departures, Barça is already attracted to the idea of signing a new winger.

Their original goal was always Nico Williams this summer, but that operation seems to have slipped through their fingers. Unfortunately, there are not too many elite options available in the market right now for Barcelona, especially not in the price range that the Catalan club can afford to manage.

However, it would appear that a great market opportunity has now presented itself. According to SPORT, Juventus forward Federico Chiesa is a player that Barcelona are now considering to bring in as a late recruit this summer knowing that other options may not be as enticing.

With Chiesa having been put on the exit ramp by Juventus, especially after deciding that he would not be a key part of Thiago Motta’s revolution at the Old Lady, Barça see his arrival as a great opportunity. Juventus want to remove his salary from their books, and La Blaugrana would be more than happy to take an extremely talented winger under their wing.

At the moment, the report suggests that Chiesa’s departure could materialize for a price that would not exceed the €14 million mark. With one year left on his contract and his current valuation being €35 million, it would be a fair deal to try to acquire the player for less than half that value if the report is to be believed.

Moreover, the player earns around €6 million per season at Juventus and he would want a three-year deal at least to ensure continuity at whatever destination he ends up playing next season. Clubs from the English Premier League have already tried to advance talks, but Barcelona is an option that attracts the Italian winger and the club seems interested in him as well.

His medical reports have already been acquired by the club and they believe that his fitness would not be an issue. In fact, as per SPORT, he seems to be in the right shape to carry on playing at his best level despite overcoming a massive knee injury around two years ago.
