Two headline members of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona find themselves in the sights of a number of Saudi Pro League clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Raphinha and Frenkie de Jong as the players in question.
Both winger Raphinha and midfielder De Jong were actually tipped for potential moves to the Middle East last summer, as the SPL’s money-laden clubs sought to take advantage of the ongoing financial problems at Barcelona.
In the end, evidently, a deal was not forthcoming for either player.
But as per a report from Mundo Deportivo:
‘Frenkie de Jong and Raphinha Dias are two of the players who have attracted interest from clubs in the Saudi Arabian League in past transfer markets, an interest that, as MD has been able to confirm, continues ahead of next summer’s transfer window.’
The Camp Nou brass are not expected to be open to a deal for the reborn Raphinha come the season’s close, though the situation with De Jong could prove an altogether different one.
Ahead of the expiration of the Dutchman’s contract terms in the summer of 2026, Barcelona are seen as increasingly likely to sanction a sale.
