After spending most of the season sidelined due to an Achilles tendon injury that required surgery, followed by two separate muscular setbacks, Andreas Christensen is finally back in action.
The Danish centre-back had only played in the opening match of La Liga against Valencia before his comeback in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final against Inter Milan on 30 April, when he played seven minutes as a substitute.
Since then, Christensen has steadily increased his involvement. He completed a solid 90 minutes vs Real Valladolid and featured for over half an hour in the Clasico against Real Madrid, coming on after Pau Cubarsi requested to be substituted.
Now, according to SPORT, Christensen has no intention of leaving Barcelona amid speculations about a potential departure in the summer.
The defender is under contract with the Catalans until 30 June 2026 and had been touted as a possible candidate to be sold to make room for new arrivals in the summer.

However, the 29-year-old wants to stay put and is eager to prove that he is a reliable option for Hansi Flick’s Barcelona in the remaining matches this season.
Christensen is fully aware that Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez are currently the preferred central pairing under the German coach, but he believes he can contribute and earn minutes next season.
With Martinez suspended, Christensen is likely to start in the upcoming derby against Espanyol and could feature in the remaining two matches of the season against Villarreal and Athletic Club, especially if Barça have already secured the league title.
These games will be crucial for Christensen as he looks to prove himself and cement his place in the Barcelona squad for next season.
